Four performers sing a country-hoedown song about an audience topic, each taking one verse in turn with a shared sung chorus.
Known for
- Uses a fixed four-line verse form (AABB or ABAB rhyme) with a sung chorus between verses.
- Ryan Stiles became famous for intentionally bad hoedowns; Colin Mochrie for deliberately impossible rhymes.
- The last performer traditionally carries the 'button' — a strong closing joke everyone sets up.
- Cut from US WL revival for several seasons because cast struggled with musical singing.
