Hitchhiker
1970s-present
Also known as Hitch Hiker, Taxi Cab, Car Ride
Four chairs arranged as a car. Driver drives; each new hitchhiker enters with a strong character/emotion. All existing passengers adopt the new trait. When the car fills, one exits to make room.
Known for
- Tests character commitment and physical mimicry — existing passengers must fully adopt each new trait.
- Must justify exits narratively — don't just 'my stop, bye.'
- Variants: Taxi Cab (driver stays neutral, passengers change), Contagious Hitchhiker (trait is literally viral).
- Common beginner class game — low prep, high character comedy payoff.
