Improv Chat — Terms of Service

Effective Date: April 12, 2026

Last Updated: April 12, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Improv Chat (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Improv Chat. Improv rooms and AI game content can involve adult humor, strong language, and emotionally intense creative work. This is an adult creative platform. By using the App, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.

If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your profile. You may sign in with Apple, Google, phone number, or as a guest.

You may delete your account at any time via Settings. See our Privacy Policy for details on what happens to your data when you close your account.

4. Acceptable Use

Improv Chat is a creative community. You agree NOT to:

Strong opinions, adult humor, crude comedy, heated creative disagreement, and politically diverse viewpoints are all welcome. We moderate behavior, not beliefs. See our Community Guidelines for specific examples and the graduated enforcement model.

5. AI-Generated Content

Improv Chat uses AI (powered by Anthropic’s Claude) to provide scene partner dialogue, scoring, and feedback. AI-generated content is:

6. Audio and Voice

Improv Chat uses your microphone for gameplay (speech-to-text transcription). Your speech is processed by Deepgram for transcription and is not stored beyond the transcription session. AI scene partner responses may be played back via text-to-speech (when voice mode is enabled). See our Privacy Policy §5 for full audio data processing details.

In multiplayer rooms (future feature), audio is transmitted in real-time via encrypted WebRTC. Live audio is not recorded unless a host explicitly starts recording, which is visible to all participants.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of everything you create on Improv Chat — your spoken scenes, voice memos, recordings, and profile content. By posting content publicly (e.g., recordings, voice memos), you grant Improv Chat a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content within the App.

You may delete your content at any time. Deleted content is removed from the App and our servers per the retention schedule in our Privacy Policy §8.

8. Moderation and Enforcement

We enforce these terms through a graduated system:

Users who are moderated are told what they did and which rule it violated. No silent shadowbans. You will have the opportunity to appeal moderation decisions.

9. Service Availability

Improv Chat is provided “as is.” We do our best to keep the service running reliably, but we do not guarantee uptime, uninterrupted access, or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Improv Chat and its creator (Frank Kyazze) are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App. This includes but is not limited to: loss of data, loss of revenue, emotional distress from creative content, or damages arising from AI-generated responses.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

11. Intellectual Property

Improv Chat, its logo, design, code, and AI systems are the intellectual property of Frank Kyazze. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without written permission.

The improv games, scoring rubrics, and AI scene partner personas are original creative works. The improv concepts encyclopedia contains factual and historical information that is not claimed as proprietary.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of Orleans Parish, Louisiana.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the App evolves. For significant changes, we will notify you through the App before the changes take effect. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
